Amy Shui, senior biostatistician, presented at the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM)

On August 3, 2026, Amy Shui, senior biostatistician of UCSF Department of Surgery Biostatistics Core, presented at the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in Boston, MA. JSM is North America's largest gathering of statisticians and data scientists, with more than 5,000 attendees from 52 countries. 

Her poster presentation, titled "Comparing modeling methods of determining survival benefit of liver transplantation", compared three methods of determining survival benefit of liver transplantation (LT) and effect modification of survival benefit by MELD 3.0 using time-dependent interaction terms. Overall survival benefit was the same across methods, but the threshold of MELD 3.0 at which LT survival benefit was achieved varied.
